Text: Romans 12:1-2 (or read together Romans 11:33-12:5)
Title: Transformed!
1. Opening: What is an example of transformation in the natural world that awes or delights you?
2. What are characteristics of a mature Christian? Can you point to Scripture verses that describe this sort of maturity?
3. What are some challenges that keep people from maturing as followers of Jesus? (Pastor Cara pointed out three challenges suggested by Romans 11:33-12:2.) Which things are challenging for you personally? It may be especially fruitful to consider lies of the world that threaten to hinder your transformation.
4. Pastor Cara talked about three spaces where transformation by God through the Holy Spirit is more likely to take place (again, indicated by Romans 11:33-12:5). How has God used these spaces in your life to effect transformation? Can you share an inspiring story about someone else who shows signs of transformation?
5. As you think about the transformation God wants to do in you, what is one thing you commit to doing in the coming week, in order to partner with the Holy Spirit?
