Title: Taking Off Anger, Putting On Patience

ICEBREAKER
Choose one to get conversation started:
1. When was the last time you felt impatient over something small (traffic, a slow website,
a long line, etc.)?
2. Think of someone in your life who models patience really well. What is it about them
that stands out?
INVITED – Bringing our real emotions before God
1. The sermon reminded us that anger itself isn’t always wrong. When has anger revealed
something important to you—maybe hurt, injustice, or a boundary?
2. Why do you think it can be hard to bring honest emotions, like anger, to God?
LOVED – Practicing patience in relationships
1. Paul encourages us to be patient and gentle with one another. Why do you think patience
is so important in our Christian community?
2. Can you remember a time when someone responded to you with patience instead of
anger? How did that impact you?

SHAPED – Growing spiritually and learning to manage anger
1. The sermon suggested reflecting on our anger patterns—journaling, self-examining,
things like that. Off the top of your head, can you identify situations or triggers that tend
to bring out anger in you?
2. How do you versus how should you, react when you’re upset? What practical steps
would help you to show up more desirably when you’re upset?

SENT – Living out patience in everyday life
1. How might holding onto anger affect the way others see us as followers of Christ?
2. What is one situation this week where you sense God inviting you to replace anger with
patience?
3. How could Faith Church help you cultivate patience during this season of Lent?
Share one step you’ll take, and ask your group to walk with you in that.
