Stewardship

"Each should give what he has decided in his heart to give,
not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

2 Corinthians 9:7

About Giving at Faith

While giving is a personal matter, we as a church also firmly believe that stewardship is an issue of spiritual maturity. Our view of God affects our relationship with our personal resources. When you give at Faith through regular tithing, the money goes to a variety of causes:

  • Day-to-day operating expenses of the church
  • Ministry Shares
  • Outreach
  • Children/Youth programs
  • Congregational Care/Life
  • Worship

We also have weekly offerings that support specific causes and we encourage you to support these ministries as you are able.

Where Your Money Goes

When you donate money to Faith Church, a portion of your donation (about 17%) goes toward denominational ministry shares. Years ago, Christian Reformed churches recognized that some ministry can best be done if carried out by churches together. The system is a very cost-effective way of providing funds for ministry and is a big reason why our denomination is able to support a range of ministry programs that is unparalleled for a church our size.

Ministry Share money is used by the Christian Reformed Church in North America for a variety of important causes, including missions, Back to God Ministries International, Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary, chaplaincy, race relations, disability concerns, pastor-church relations and church communications through The Network and other programs.

Options for Giving

Faith encourages its regular members to prayerfully consider making a yearly Faith Promise pledge. More information about our yearly Promise campaign are available in the links on this page.
