Sermon Questions 2025-11-23
Christ the King Sunday
Text: Ephesians 1
Title: Money Problems and the Body of Christ
Invited: What’s the best gift you’ve ever received from another person?
Loved: Do you have a problem with money? Pastor Cara proposed that most of us do. She shared four different “money problems.” Which one(s) resonated most with you? What problems might you add? Talk about your experience with giving in the church. (NOTE: Money is a sensitive topic! Proceed gently. Remember that being part of a community where “all are loved” means practicing compassion and non-judgement as well as vulnerability.)
Shaped:
Read Ephesians 1:3-14, where Paul names many “spiritual blessings.” Which blessing named in this passage stands out to you? Why? What blessings might you add to Paul’s list?
Pastor Cara shared a “Cardboard Testimony” video from Calvary Chapel Chino (you can find it on Youtube or search for one of many other similar videos). If you were to create a two-sided card with a Before and After story of what God has done for you through Jesus Christ, what would you write?
Read Ephesians 1:20-23. Where is Christ? What does this passage say about what it means to be Christ’s body?
This passage implies two ways forward to address our money problems: Share generously as a lavishly blessed child of the Father. Invest wisely as the hands and feet of Christ in his Kingdom. Discuss.
Will you complete a Faith Church pledge form for our 2026 Ministry? (they will be emailed out this week)
Sent to live like Jesus: What is one thing that the Holy Spirit is saying to you today? Share it with your group or at least one other person, and then pray together for the Spirit’s love and power to respond well.
