Title: Ten Thousand Reasons

Invited: Talk about the phrase “I love you” or similar expressions of affection. Is it a phrase you use often? With whom? What about in your childhood? How has your use of this expression changed over time?

Loved: Share a memorable experience of worship and praise. What made it memorable?

Shaped:

  • Review the different words for praising in Psalm 34:1-3. How full-bodied (literally, physically) is your praise? Does this matter?
  • Scripture tells us to praise God “always”! Talk about how praise can be (1) honest expressions of delight, (2) intentional acts of worship, and (3) a lifestyle of trust.
  • What are some of the 10,000 reasons you have to bless God?
  • How have you been shaped by the call to praise God? Share about a time when you chose to praise even when you didn’t feel like it.
  • How can praise be a weapon against enemies and idols? (Check out the amazing story in 1 Chronicles 20!)

Sent: What is one step the Spirit is nudging you to take this week as it relates to praising God? Share this step with your group and pray for one another.
