Text: Luke 15:11-32
Title: Goodness of God

Invited: Talk about your experience with running. Are you, or have you been, a runner? Do you have a significant memory of running, whether for competition, exercise, fear, or another reason?

Loved: The chorus of “Goodness of God” says, “All my life you have been faithful, all my life you have been so, so good. With every breath that I am able, I will sing of the goodness of God.” Do these lyrics resonate with you? If yes, share some examples. If not, why not? (We honour your honesty!)

• How does the Parable of the Lost Sons in Luke 15:11-32 enrich your understanding of the goodness of God?
• Which character(s) in the parable do you identify with most – the younger son, the older son, or the father? Why?
• The bridge of “Goodness of God” begins, “Your goodness is running after, it’s running after me.” What does this mean? (See also Psalm 23:6.)
• The bridge of “Goodness of God” concludes, “With my life laid down, I surrender now, I give you everything.” What does this line mean for you? What is God inviting you to do?
